Untouched World | Repair Workshops

Mindful Fashion's Sustainability Spotlights showcase initiatives from our members that advance circular and sustainable clothing and textiles. If you have a sustainability initiative to share get in touch.

This month we caught up with Development Manager Fiona Bretherton from Untouched World who shared one of the sustainability initiatives they are currently working on.

The Initiative

In July 2023 Untouched World launched its interactive in-store mending and repair workshops. This initiative is part of the brand's circularity efforts and builds on its commitment to keeping its garments in use for longer, ensuring they continue to be worn and loved!

Mastering Skills

Untouched World’s skilled team of artisans based in its workroom in Christchurch, have mastered the art and technical skills of mending and will be sharing these skills with its community. Once a month, Untouched World’s Production Manager Fi will be based in the brands Christchurch store offering an onsite mending service and sharing best care practice, ways to mend at home, and any other tips and advice on how to keep garments looking good for longer.

How to Get Involved

Untouched World welcomes anyone to go in and meet Fi, learn a skill, and learn how to get the most out of their garments from 10:30am - 12:30pm on the first Monday of every month.

Its Impacts

Exploring creative ways to connect with its community and share its own expertise for garment care and repair with customers helps Untouched World build a closer connection between the wearer and its garments. We love that Untouched World is considering its obligations and responsibilities for the full life of the products it makes, and using this as a platform to inspire and educate its customers and community.
