June 2024

The Mindful Fashion team along with our community of members, partners and supporters from across the fashion and textiles ecosystem in Aotearoa New Zealand gathered together for our 5th AGM on the 11th of June 2024, hosted by Mindful Fashion in Grey Lynn.

This is a huge milestone for our organisation and we are grateful for the support of all those who joined us in person and online. We shared what we've done over the last 12 months and our exciting plans for the future. With such great support from the industry and wider business community we are looking forward to working with our community to take the actions in Threads of Tomorrow Industry report forward and create an industry where business, people and nature all thrive.

In Conversation

Dan Ahwa and Zoe Walker Awha

The evening culminated in a fantastic conversation between respected NZ journalists Dan Ahwa, Creative and Fashion Editor at NZ Herald VIVA, and Zoe Walker Ahwa, editor and co-founder of Ensemble Magazine and Style Editor at Stuff, who shared their views on the role of media and the state of fashion in Aotearoa.

We came away buoyed by the energy in the room and the growing interest from businesses and organisations in NZ's fashion, clothing and textile industry to join our collective and work together to build a thriving future.
