2023 | Workshop 2: Circular Design Strategies

Learn how to embed circular design principles and holistic life-cycle and systems thinking into your creation.

Friday 11 August | 11 am - 12 pm

As part of the design process, entrants to the Circular Design Award are challenged to create a plan for the full life-cycle of their creation from cradle to cradle. We will explore ideas for how you might create benefits through your design, rather than further waste or pollution problems in the future. This way of thinking challenges you to consider your obligations and responsibilities as a good ancestor.

Learn about the four circular design strategies to incorporate across your outfits lifecycle:

  • Design for Low Waste

  • Design for Low-impact Materials and Processes

  • Design for Longevity

  • Design for Recyclability.

Explore creative and technical inspiration and innovation, and be inspired by others.

This stage of the learning journey will guide you to consider the full life cycle of your outfit from cradle to cradle.
